Hello and welcome to the TFA Los Angeles Special Education family!

 

Here you will find a special education transition guide that will answer your initial questions regarding your special education placement.

 

We are pleased to announce that in the month of January you will gain access to the first of your online pre-service modules through Kern County Alternative Certification! This is a wonderful opportunity for you to both develop necessary skill prior to entering a school site, as well as a requirement for you to gain your preliminary credential. Team November will have the longest amount of time to complete the 3 required online pre-service modules before summer institute begins in Phoenix in early June. Here is a suggested timeline that we strongly advise that you follow in order to get all 3 of the modules done in the allotted amount of time.  

 

We are in contact with Kern County Alternative Certification and they are working hard to get each of you enrolled in the first module: Education Specialist Pedagogy. Here are the Module Instructions with Los Angeles specific supplemental ,materials that will provide you with a comprehensive module experience; please read this document in full. Be on the lookout in your email for confirmation of your enrollment from Kern County. Once you get that email, please begin your module!
